Stephen Hawking Denounces
God & Freewill

After the completion of my second book "The Realities Of Destiny", I thought of the implications it would have on those who read it.  The book is strongly opposed to the tendencies and thoughts of everyday modern existence.  I knew that many would have trouble accepting the main premise of the book, namely, that humans have no freewill and that all of existence is based on a predetermined pattern of natural order that we have no control over.  I understand clearly that many would have a difficult time trying to accept that the human race, as well as all other entities, are basically programed robotic units of matter.  I decided to keep everything as it was, except for a few small points on funeral ceremonies.  After I edited these tiny portions, I went ahead and published the book.  I was going out on a limb and knew fully well that I was writing material that most authors would be extremely hesitant in writing, even if they understood the subject in-depth.  I was very pleased when I received a letter from Professor Edward Hacker author of one of the most influential I Ching books written, stating  that he could see The Realities Of Destiny touches on subjects that most writers are reluctant to express.  What a beautiful testimony coming from a person who I have respected and admired for many years.  At the time, I knew that eventually someone would publicly state similar  views regarding choice and freewill, or lack of, I should say.  There was no doubt in my mind that someone with great influence would eventually announce a similar conclusion as I had through their own research.  The difference is that I obtained this understanding from the laws of nature rather than scientific techniques.  It has long been known that the laws of nature occur in cycles or  recurring patterns, such as the seasons for example.  I had a strong notion that it was only a matter of time that someone well-known with credentials would reveal reality as I foresee it.

Approximately three weeks ago (about a year and a half after the release of The Realities Of Destiny) Stephen Hawking published a book titled, " The Grand Design" which has created quite a stir around the world.  To label his newest book as controversial would be an understatement.  Stephen Hawking is the internationally well known physicist that many have compared to Newton and Galileo, and who is being hailed as the modern day Einstein.  In his book he states that humans are basically programmed biological forms of matter that must  obey the exact patterns inherent in the three dimensional gravitational world.  This occurs without any personal desires or attempts at alteration.  He mentioned identical points that were explained in The Realities Of Destiny : Humans have no more choice or freewill than the determinate procession of the sun, moon, planets, or seasons.  He also wrote that god did not create the world; the world came into existence by the laws and rhythms of nature.  He firmly states that god was not needed to create the world.  This, not surprisingly, caused an uproar in the religious communities.  The religious fanatics saw their god being attacked and discredited by an extremely intelligent physicist.  In this case they are unable to utilize their usual defense slogan that goes something like, " the man is delusional and insane", because Mr. Hawking has been called by some as the most insightful person on earth.  Deepak Chopra  admits that he read his book three times and agrees with just about every point in his book, then went on and referred to him as "My Lord".  When Stephen Hawking was asked to differentiate between science and religion he replied, " science will always win over religion because religion is based on authority whereas science is based on observation and logic".  He was also asked point blank if he believed in god, in which he answered, " there may be a god or there may not be a god, but either way, god was not needed or involved in the creation of the universe".  It is quite obvious that he does not have much faith in god, if he even believes in one at all.  Stephen Hawking has expressed what few people understand or have had the fortitude to express.  I admire and respect his courage in doing so.

Let us understand the importance of the cyclical motions of existence, ranging from large entities such as the sun, moon, and the earth, to small ones like humans.  All entities, regardless of size, are comprised of energy that has transformed into matter and it all stems from the same source.  This source is not a personalized god that has been created by religions or other fanatical organizations.  They may certainly call it god if they wish but it doesn't change the fact that the ultimate source is the natural cycles and patterns inherent in reality.  The Chinese refer to this source, or process, as Tao.  It has also been referred to as All-That-Is, The Supreme Ultimate, and The Universal Creative Force.  It can be said that all these terms are another name for god...but not a personal god described by hardcore religious advocates.  These cycles mentioned, can be calculated mathematically with extreme precision and their future motions can be known well in advance for both large units of matter (sun, moon, etc.) and small (humans).  This is known as foreknowledge and the reason it is possible is because everything that is infused with energy and matter is bound by laws that are predetermined.  Shao Yung, the great Sung dynasty philosopher wrote about this almost one thousand years ago, and now Stephen Hawking writes about it today.  After ten centuries, Mr. Hawking discovered the same principles as Shao Yung.  Mr. Hawking made his discoveries mainly through technology and scientific tools, whereas Shao Yung the philosopher gained his insight through the deepest of contemplation.  Two different methods, but the results and conclusions were essentially identical.  That is :  reality operates on fixed laws with no possibility of alteration.  Everything is predetermined where choice and freewill is merely an illusion that humanity has concocted and not been able to understand or accept for eons.
